Back in Dairyland

Here I am...back in Wisconsin once again. The good news is it's not winter and there's no snow in sight. I've been back for almost a week now and I'm staying at my sisters home in Waldo, a very small town, population about 600. It's been hot and humid since I returned, kind of like the beach in Costa Rica! I've been helping her out with gardening and getting the process moving to get high speed internet out here. Hard to pursue employment opportunities on dial up! Ideally I will find something I can do online from home as I have very little interest in owning a vehicle and all the expenses that come along with that. So right now I'm keeping my options open and we'll see what comes up next.

Booked Dates 01/20/09-02/03/09

I am booked for these dates in Drake Bay! Woohoo! The Osa...finally...looking forward to this adventure!

Booked Dates - 3/14/09-3/22/09

My nephew John and his new wife Nicki from Wisconsin are coming to Costa Rica during this week. A belated honeymoon perhaps...Anyway, I expect they will be going out on some tours, (they've mentioned white water rafting and deep sea fishing) and I'm sure they will want to do some of their site seeing on their own but my guide services are reserved for them during this time frame. Let's see how many more people from Wisconsin I can persuade to come visit me here!

Book Dates - 02/11/09-02/19/09

My friend Brian from Wisconsin is coming to Costa Rica for a week vacation. We met when we were 10 years old. He's never been outside of the USA so this is a big one for him. He is handicapped and pretty much wheelchair bound. The plan is to rent a car and I'll drive him around the country and show him some special places so this week is devoted to my good old buddy Brian.

Introduction...

Greetings all and thank you for visiting my blog spot. If you live in Costa Rica and you are looking for someone to manage your property whether it's a bed & breakfast, guesthouse or hotel, maintain and show a property you are trying to sell to prospective buyers or need a trustworthy, proven person to provide house-sitting or pet-sitting services I would appreciate your consideration. References will be provided upon request.

I am a single man 44 years old and I have lived in various areas of Costa Rica for 2+ years. I can honestly say that there is no other place I would rather be living. Before moving to Costa Rica I lived in Arcadia, California where I owned two homes that I extensively remodeled. I was employed by a public works general contracting firm and I have a background in construction accounting, purchasing and record keeping.

In Costa Rica I have provided property protection/management services for several businesses and individuals. My experience includes, guest services & reservation accommodations, cooking (I am not intimidated to be in the kitchen), detailed housekeeping services, transportation services, scheduling tours with licensed reputable tour agencies, explaining how to get around by various means of transportation, what guests can do locally, and making sure they have a positive experience at the property as to create a positive reputation for the business as a great place to stay and professionally representing the property in the neighborhood and community. And in one instance I was hired to keep a high end property in a constant state of readiness for prospective guests or potential buyers after the owners had moved back to the USA to resume there lives there until a new owner was found.

On site grounds keeping and landscaping, pruning and maintenance of fruit trees, roses and many other fast growing tropical plants including elimination of the matapalo vine (strangler fig) which can kill everything it attacks. And in the processes being environmentally conscious by return good organic matter back to the earth. Gardening equipment repairs & maintenance. Preventative maintenance and repairs to the on site and off site utilities. Complete pool maintenance. Timely paying of all utility bills to avoid interruption of services which if you have lived in Costa Rica is very important as it can take days to have your utilities turned back on if you're late on a payment!

I have also provide pet care (dogs & cats) and I'm open to all types of animals. I have a fixed female dachshund and she receives the best possible care and your pets will receive the same. To most of us they are not just animals, they are important parts of our families and lives. My dog gets along great with everyone & everything that isn't mean. She was born in Heredia, Costa Rica, January 2007 and was the last dog left from a litter of 6. She plays with dogs 10 times her size and seems to be fearless of them. So she pretty much travels with me on any overnight or longer jobs. She has all her immunizations and I can provide her health records upon request.

In all my jobs I have proven to be a VERY honest, dedicated, going WAY above and beyond whatever what has been expected of me. I am not a drunk, I am not a drug addict. My first and foremost responsibility is to my employer/clients. I consider that to be my sole responsibility and I take every assignment very seriously. I know what my personal belongings mean to me so I use the same approach when I am entrusted with protection and security of others property as well. Of course every assignment is different and I am open to hearing about all opportunities and possibly working out a deal depending on the situation.

Thank you for visiting my blog space and if I can be of assistance to you please contact me so we can discuss your requirements.
